Monthly Round-up #3

In July...

  • I graduated from university with a 2:2. This means that I am now a qualified primary school teacher and will be starting my NQT year in September. I've had a great time at uni but it's been pretty stressful and i'm glad to be leaving. My graduation day was lovely and I spent time with my family and boyfriend.
  • I met my new class. On the 14th we had our transition day where the children meet their new teacher and spend a day in their new classrooms or new classes (there are 2 classes per year group so every 2 or 3 years we mix them up). I loved meeting my very chatty class and i've noticed a lot of big personalities already. I've also started decorating my classroom which is the most exciting thing of all!
  • I bought a 50mm Canon lens. After months of deliberating on whether to buy it or not, I finally took the plunge after pay day and bought myself the loveliest lens of all time. It really does give a beautiful blurred background effect and I can't wait to start using it for blog posts.
  • My boyfriend James came to stay and we had an exciting adventure at Delamere forest. You can read more about that here

Next Month...

  • I want to use my time wisely and start preparing for September
  • I'd like to do another baking blog post
  • I'm looking forward to a few events such as birthdays and James' nieces' dedication

Monthly Round-up #2

In June...

  • I got a job! After four lesson observations and interviews at different schools I finally secured a full-time teaching job for September. I'll be teaching year 5 (9 and 10 year olds) in the school I actually completed my fourth year teaching placement in. I feel so lucky, relieved and very excited to get decorating my classroom (suggestions welcome)!
  • I visited my boyfriend and went to the Cotswolds. Last weekend I travelled down to Cheltenham and had an amazing weekend with James. He took me on a surprise trip to Bourton-on-the-Water which was beautiful and lots of fun. I'm planning a post on this trip so stay tuned!
  • I had my graduation ball. On the 14th my whole teaching course met up in Manchester and we had our graduation ball. It was a lovely event spent with my best friends and we had fun dressing up and talking about our futures as qualified teachers!

Next Month...
  • I will be very excited to officially graduate on the 28th
  • On the 14th I will have my new class for the first time
  • I want to make time for some more DIY posts!

Freebies | Monthly Round-up Banners

Hi all. Today I have put my creative hat on and made some Monthly Round-up images that I am going to use on my posts. The good news is, you can use them too! You can save the images and use them on any monthly review/favourites/round-up posts you may have scheduled. The only rule is you have to credit my blog (littlejen1.blogspot.co.uk) somewhere in the post so others can use my freebies too.

* Please note: All of the backgrounds to the images were found on Pinterest so I can't credit the original creator directly. If any of these images are yours please let me know and I will credit you :)

Monthly Round-up #1

In May...
  • I finished university! After 4 long years of training to be a primary school teacher I am finally qualified and never have to write an assignment again. It feels too good.
  • My boyfriend moved back home. The negative of finishing uni is the fact that my boyfriend James has moved back home for summer. He's about 2 and a half hours away which isn't awful but we now need to plan our summer adventures.
  • I've been getting creative. My extra time has allowed me to get extra creative this month. Lots of DIY posts to come!
  • And finally...I've started a blog! Obviously this month I started my little blog and so far i'm loving every minute of it. Let's hope Little Jen continues to grow over the next few months.

Next Month...

  • I want to secure a full time teaching job for September
  • I want to read at least 3 books
  • I want to run at least twice a week

What is the best thing that happened to your this month?
